Natalia Borčić was born on the island of Vis in 1989. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 2013. She is a member of the Croatian Academy of Fine Arts and the Croatian Society of Artists. She has exhibited at numerous solo and group exhibitions in the country and abroad and has participated in several artist residencies. At the 7th Biennial of Painting, she received the award “Young Artist of the 7th Biennial of Painting” and the award“Kontrapukt Award Vladimir Dodig Trokut, Iva Vraneković – Artists to Artists“. Her artistic work is part of the project “Island Connect” in which she presents her work “Islands as a Military Fortress” in which she explores the similarities and differences of the military legacy of the island of Vis with the islands of Tenerife, Corsica and Ireland. She lives and works between Zagreb and Vis.
